EDI
EDI, or Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion has become a large part of HR practitioners day to day in most organizations. I have been working within EDI in small ways most of my career but didn't fully engage in the work until 2019. Since then I have read, researched, and implemented different EDI frameworks in organizations I have been a part of. Over the years my passion for EDI work has grown as I have been able to see and experience the parallels between broader society and the workplace. Becoming an EDI practitioner has allowed me to contribute to creating more equitable workplaces by addressing systemic barriers and fostering curiosity to learn from diverse perspectives. Through this work, I have been able to broaden my own understanding of different cultures and help leaders tap into their own curiosity around organizational inclusivity. Witnessing the positive impact of EDI initiatives and seeing individuals thrive in inclusive environments brings a profound sense of fulfillment and motivation to continue the important work of driving social change inside and outside of the workplace.

Using this book as a framework for EDI work, it helps gound us in a willingness to question, unlearn assumptions of what we think we know.

Example of
my Work
Working with a nonprofit that wanted help to develop a leadership framework that could scale but also help create a foundation of anti-racist ways of being, I leaned on Radical Candor to set a tone of openness, care, and feedback.
